Matt and Hope Hess
Richmond, Virginia
Greetings everyone! I’m Matthew and this is my lovely wife Hope. We have two boys, Gabriel and Liam ages 10 and 7 and reside in the central Virginia area just south of Richmond. I am an ordained minister currently following the process of becoming a Missionary Priest in the Society of St. Patrick and St. Aidan.
I was raised in a Pentecostal church and I later attended a Baptist church where the Lord reaffirmed my call into ministry at the age of 27. Afterward, I began my undergrad work at Liberty University. Presently, I'm completing a Master of Divinity degree at Regent Theological Seminary, where the Lord placed it upon my heart to move into a more liturgical and sacramental environment. This brought me to the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod (LCMS). During my three-year duration in the LCMS, the Holy Spirit embedded a desire to blend the various streams I had encountered during my Christian life of Charismatic, Evangelical, and Liturgical/ Sacramental. I did not think this three fold expression existed until I was introduced to Archbishop Wayne Boosahda and The Communion of Evangelical Episcopal Churches (CEEC). Ultimately, I have found my home here in the CEEC.
The ministry Christ has placed upon my heart consists of the following areas: Planting a new House Church, Teaching Theology and Apologetics, and Pursuing Healthcare Chaplaincy.
Due to numerous experiences, I have found myself called to include deliverance and spiritual warfare within my ministry. This is a field of continuing study for me and I have found a strong calling to help and support people in this area.
I look forward to collaborating and working with my fellow brothers and sisters in Christ, and I welcome you to contact me if you would like to chat or if you have any needs.
God Bless!
